How well do you use LinkedIn’s Search Builder Lead Builder to find leads? Many just use LinkedIn to accept yes to contact requests or send away impersonal requests to different people themselves.

Keep in mind that every contact you connect to your network on LinkedIn you can give a so-called tag, ie. ear tag so you can more easily search out a certain number of people included in that tag. This is not something anyone else sees, but it is only for your own sake. Below the picture of each person, there is today a “mini-CRM system” on LinkedIn. There you can fill in when you got in touch, tag in your own tag, insert when you should contact and be reminded. Simple and effective.

One of the best features here on LinkedIn is Lead Builder. If you have a free account, you can use this feature in three searches. If you have a Premium account, you can do five searches.
With Lead Builder you can create and save lists of potential customers using different search aspects. Create a Lead List: Click Advanced Search next to Search at the top of the Home screen. A Lead Builder popup window appears. Select relevant search criteria to find your leads and click Search. Save. So LinkedIn keeps track of changes. You can create searches on a variety of criteria, 1st-degree contacts, 2nd-degree contacts, Groups, titles, functions, company size, geography. In the paid versions, however, you can refine your searches more than in the free version.
Export your contacts
You know that you can also save all your LinkedIn contacts in a so-called CSV file, and then convert it to an excel file and import, for example, in Outlook’s address book, your CRM system etc. But there is absolutely no idea to do this until you have arranged all your contacts. Otherwise, there will be so much more work in Excel.
